Unique Public Art Opportunities
Calling Performers, Educators, Non-profits, and Youth Groups in the Mission District!
Opportunity for Public Presentation
We are looking for youth groups and performers to perform in Plaza 16 (the street-level plaza at the 16th Street BART Station) at our upcoming cultural events highlighting the different cultural traditions of the Mission District. Past presenters have ranged from youth hip-hop dancers to tai-chi demonstrations.
Opportunity for Interactive Activities
Educators and artists are also invited to lead interactive activities at our weekly cultural activities on Fridays from 3:00-5:00pm.
COMPENSATION
This is a volunteer project. Benefits include:
- Giving Back. Your effort will help transform Plaza 16 from a public space into a cultural commons. Let's make Plaza 16 safe, beautiful and functional.
- $ Donations $. Events and activities are free for the neighborhood, but you may display a tip jar.
- Low-cost, local publicity: complement your outreach efforts and generate interest. You may distribute flyers during your performance or activity to promote your upcoming events or classes, or conduct outreach for program participants.
WHO MAY APPLY
We are seeking Performers, Educators, Non-profit organizations and Youth Groups who live and/or work in/serve the Mission District of San Francisco, CA.

Email Lori Dueck, to participate in the 2007 events and activities. There is no deadline, but submissions will be reviewed by the MCC Plaza 16 Project Staff on a first-come, first-serve basis, and events are being scheduled now!
