Plaza 16 - Get Involved!

Promote community unity, culture, and safety at the 16th Street BART plaza!

Get involved in the Plaza 16 Project:

  • weekly activities
  • quarterly events, and
  • bi-monthly art exhibitions

We are seeking Performers, Educators, Non-profit organizations and Youth Groups who live and/or work in/serve the Mission District of San Francisco, CA to participate in our events.

Weekly Activities

Every Friday from 3-5pm we're out on the Plaza with community members! Together with our community partners we do everything from coloring, skipping rope, and playing dominoes to breakdancing performances, and distributing Safer Sex materials. If you've got an idea for a weekly activity or would like to lead one: give us a call, or email. You can send a completed application and we'll contact you.

Quarterly Events

We love to celebrate the diversity of our community, and who better to help us than you! Quarterly events happen - well, quarterly! Past events have featured art exhibition openings, dance and vocal performances, information tables, and activities from t-shirt stenciling to meditation. Take a look at pictures from past events, and contact the office to find out when our next event will be held.

Bi-monthly Art Exhibitions

Find out more about exhibitions at Plaza 16, by checking out our Plaza 16 Public Gallery page.
